ENGLAND TO HOST RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP IN 2021

Tournament will be biggest and best World Cup to date and help grow the sport at home and abroad.

England will host the Rugby League World Cup in 2021, the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) announce. The tournament is anticipated to host a million spectators at venues across England, including in the sport’s heartlands in the Northern Powerhouse. The government is committing up to £25 million to the tournament and its legacy, with up to £15 million pledged to support the staging of the event and up to £10 million for Rugby League’s infrastructure - to grow the game across the country.

The event will include men’s, women’s and wheelchair rugby league competitions.
