Satellite Clubs

Satellite Clubs are sustainable opportunities to take part in sport that specifically target irregularly active 14-19 year olds. Satellite Clubs are:

  •  Run regularly, with delivery not limited to term time.
  •  Centred around what young people want and need.
  •  Based at a suitable facility that is convenient and accessible to young people.
  •  Open to all young people across the local community.
  •  Structured less formally offering informal opportunities for young people to take part in sport
  •  Provide an opportunity or exit route for sustained participation

CSW Sport Satellite Club Delivery Fund

Funding is available to help establish and deliver Satellite Clubs in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire. The scheme is flexible and organisations can apply for funds to meet a range of costs such as equipment, coaching qualifications and facility hire.

CSW Sport prioritise applications which lead to sustainable Satellite Clubs that provide sport in a format and at a venue that young people show demand for. We encourage applications that target under-represented participants within sport including women and girls, black and minority ethnic groups and disabled young people. Satellite Clubs should reflect Sport England’s comprehensive Under the Skin guidance and research, placing young people at the centre of plans.
