What is Sportivate?

Sportivate is a lottery funded grants programme which aims to get more 11-25 year olds participating in sport on a regular basis.

The programme funds 6-8 weeks of coached sessions giving participants a taste of an activity in order to engage and encourage them to continue to participate in a clearly defined community 'exit route'.

Delivery should be aimed at inactive or irregularly inactive teenagers and young adults i.e. those who may not seek out sporting opportunities themselves and would not prioritise doing sport in their own time or those who are doing sport for a limited amount of time.

Organisations/Clubs/Bodies/Community Groups are encouraged to apply for Sportivate funding. Costs can cover the following:

  • Coaching Fees
  • New Equipment
  • Facility Hire
  • Exit Route Incentives

There will be two opportunities to apply for funding each year until 2017 (see below).

Sportivate Outcomes

All participants attending Sportivate sessions MUST be aged 11-25 years old.

Organisations/clubs/bodies are encouraged to apply for Sportivate funding to work with:

  • Inactive groups and individuals
  • Women and Girls
  • Participants aged 19-25
  • People with Disabilities
  • BME groups
  • People from Disadvantaged Areas/Backgrounds

Please also ensure applications reflect the new youth insight findings (see Youth Insight document in downloads section).

Who Can Apply?

All applications must demonstrate sufficient demand for their project and can provide or promote suitable exit routes for participants. The following can all apply for Sportivate funding:

  • NGB's
  • Sports Clubs
  • LA's
  • Leisure Facilities
  • Youth Services
  • Educational Institutes
  • Community Groups
  • Workplaces
  • Uniformed Services
  • Health Services
